Read the Slab, Not Just the Card
CardSight AI doesn't just identify the card inside a slab — it reads the slab itself. Point our AI pipeline at any graded card and get back the grading company, the grade, and any qualifiers on the label. PSA, Beckett, SGC, CGC, TAG — all supported today.
No OCR hacks. No brittle text parsing. Just structured data from a photo — in under 300 milliseconds.

What We Read From the Slab
Three data points from every graded card photo — structured, standardized, and ready to use.
Grading Company
Identifies which company graded the card — PSA, Beckett/BGS, SGC, CGC, or TAG. Returned as a standardized value you can use for filtering, sorting, or display without any mapping on your end.
Grade
Reads the numeric grade from the label. Whether it's a PSA 10, a BGS 9.5, or an SGC 8 — the grade comes back as a structured value, ready for comparison, filtering, and pricing lookups.
Qualifiers
Detects qualifier designations on the grade — like PSA's O.C. (off-center), MK (marked), MC (miscut), PD (print defect), or ST (staining). These affect value significantly and are often missed by manual entry.
Supported Grading Companies
Five major grading companies supported today, with more on the way.
PSA
Professional Sports Authenticator
The most widely used grading service. Full grade and qualifier detection including O.C., MK, MC, PD, and ST designations.
Beckett
Beckett Grading Services (BGS/BVG/BCCG)
Beckett slab identification across all label types. Subgrade detection and black/gold label distinction coming soon.
SGC
Sportscard Guaranty Corporation
Full grade reading from SGC slabs. Subgrade extraction from newer SGC labels is on the roadmap.
CGC
Certified Guaranty Company
Grade detection from CGC trading card slabs. Originally known for comics grading, now a growing force in cards.
TAG
Technical Authentication & Grading
Newer grading company fully supported. Grade and qualifier detection from TAG labels.
On the Roadmap
Slab identification is live today — and we're actively expanding what the API reads. Here's what's coming next.
Certificate Number Extraction
Read the cert number directly from the slab label. Cross-reference against grading company databases for authentication and lookup.
Subgrade Identification
For companies that issue subgrades — like BGS (Centering, Corners, Edges, Surface) and SGC — extract each individual subgrade alongside the overall grade.
Autograph Grade Identification
Detect and read autograph grades separately from card grades on dual-graded slabs (e.g., BGS 9.5 / Auto 10).
Label Type Distinction
Identify specific label types within a grading company — such as Beckett's Black Label vs. Gold Label, or PSA's standard vs. vintage holders.
Transparency
We're upfront about what's live and what's still in development. The features marked "Coming Soon" are actively being built. If a specific capability matters for your integration timeline, reach out — we're happy to share where things stand.
Slab Data in Every Identification Call
Slab identification isn't a separate endpoint — it's built into the same identification call you already use. When you send a photo of a graded card, the response includes both the card identity and the slab metadata. One image, one call, everything you need.
The response includes the grading company as a standardized string, the numeric grade, and any qualifiers detected on the label. No extra configuration. No feature flags. It just works.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about CardSight AI's slab identification capabilities, supported grading companies, and upcoming features.
The API currently identifies slabs from five major grading companies: PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator), Beckett (BGS/BVG/BCCG), SGC (Sportscard Guaranty Corporation), CGC (Certified Guaranty Company), and TAG (Technical Authentication & Grading). More grading companies will be added over time as coverage expands.
Yes. The API reads the numeric grade directly from the slab label and returns it as a structured value. Whether it's a PSA 10, a BGS 9.5, or an SGC 8, the grade comes back ready for comparison, filtering, and pricing lookups — not as a raw OCR string that you need to parse yourself.
Qualifiers are additional designations that grading companies add to a grade to note specific flaws. For example, PSA uses qualifiers like O.C. (off-center), MK (marked), MC (miscut), PD (print defect), and ST (staining). A PSA 8 (OC) is worth significantly less than a clean PSA 8. The API detects these qualifiers and returns them as structured data so you can factor them into pricing and display.
Yes — they work together in a single API call. When you send a photo of a graded card, the response includes both the card identity (player, set, year, card number) and the slab metadata (grading company, grade, qualifiers). You don't need to make separate requests or use a different endpoint.
Yes. We're actively expanding grading company coverage. The five companies supported today cover the vast majority of graded cards in the market, but additional grading companies will be added as demand warrants. If there's a specific company you need, let us know.
Both are on the roadmap and actively being developed. Certificate number extraction will let you read the cert number directly from the label for cross-referencing against grading company databases. Subgrade identification will extract individual category grades (like BGS's Centering, Corners, Edges, and Surface scores) alongside the overall grade. These features will be added to the same API response — no endpoint changes required.
